Location, Location, Location... Scientists review geographic factors to learn why wealth concentrates predominantly in temperate zones.
In 1990, 35 percent of the world's population lived on 1 percent of the ice-free land according to data from SEDAC, the Socioeconomic Data and Applications Center operated by the Center for International Earth Science Information Network at Columbia University.
